Account »License Information
License key
For each domain you need a license key. This removes flowplayer branding from both JavaScript and Flash components and allows you to use your own logo. To use a commercial version under mydomain.com you need a 1 domain license. It will validate also on all subdomains thereof, such as www.mydomain.com or my.media.mydomain.com. An additional domain such as otherdomain.com requires another key.
For special deployment cases, for instance over an intranet, you can choose an
ip-number as domain name, and Flowplayer licenses also validate against
unofficial top-level domains. However, Flowplayer licenses only validate against
http:// and https:// addresses, local deployment via the file:// protocol
is not compliant with the licensing scheme.
The Commercial player can be embedded to an unlimited amount of foreign domains with your branding in it.
The license key is tied to the domain name shown in the browser's location bar - in the case of iframes when the frame is viewed in its own window. A valid key/domain combination removes the Flowplayer branding and you can display your own. The license key validation happens completely inside the player, and it does not connect to our servers at any time.
License keys are generated manually after the purchase on your account page. You supply the domain names where you plan to use Flowplayer.
Unlimited license
The Unlimited License allows you to make the player part of your product. Designed for web services where the end users can use the full featured Flowplayer with your branding in it. Blogging platforms, content management systems or any kinds of web services.
You obtain an algorithm for generating license keys in your application for as many domains as you wish.
The Unlimited license is ideal for Content Management Systems, for example. The
price includes all bug-fix releases. All upgrades to the Unlimited license are
again custom compiled for you. Therefore please contact support@flowplayer.org
mentioning Unlimited upgrade in the subject of your email when you want to
upgrade. New unlimited builds require you to re-generate new license keys for
the specific build.
License management
Flowplayer licenses are managed at your Flowplayer account. There you can enter the domain names of your choice to generate license keys and download your commercial releases.
Note: A generated key cannot be changed. A request to change the domain of
your license in fact leads to the generation of a new license and therefore
incurs a fee of $39.00/€29.25 via the support channel.
If you need to do work with a licensed version on a development server first,
use a (.htaccess protected) subdomain of the destination domain, or develop on
localhost - free license keys for the localhost and 127.0.0.1 are included
in the Commercial distribution. Otherwise we must charge for domain changes from
development servers to production.
Also note that you cannot split out licenses to other accounts. If you purchase a license for a client of yours and you plan to grant the client control over his license later on, you need to create a separate account for this license.
Please keep your personal information up to date, especially your email address.
Account access
We care about the privacy and safety of your personal data and licenses. If you have forgotten your password you can retrieve it in a safe way from here. In case the email address to which your Flowplayer account is bound has become invalid as well, we have to ask you to provide us with a proof of purchase - PayPal transaction or receipt ID - before we can grant you access to your account again.
Note: In your own interest we cannot divulge personal account information on email request. Sender addresses may be forged, and complying with such a request would result in a breach of confidentiality.
If you purchase Flowplayer licenses as employee of a company we advise you to connect your Flowplayer account to a long-lived non-personal email address like licensing@example.com or flowplayer@example.com.
Refund
If you are not happy with the product we can give you a refund, within 15 days after the purchase. Send an email to support@flowplayer.org and explain your situation. We encourage you to test your setup with our free player version before purchase to ensure it is working to your expectations.
Support
The purchase of a commercial license does not include free software implementation support. Of course we will address all bugs and help you with account / purchase / license issues, but support for complex setups, integration in CMS or other software suites etc is not covered by this. Besides our extensive documentation, please use our public forum (monitored and replied to by flowplayer staff), or in urgent cases, please buy a support ticket.

Flowplayer HTML5 and Flowplayer Flash are separate products. License keys for one product will not work for the other.

No PayPal account?
If you do not have a Paypal account, but own a credit card, you can still use the Paypal checkout. Instead of logging into Paypal, follow the "don't have Paypal account" link when you get directed to the Paypal page. This will lead you to the Paypal credit card checkout service.
Direct Bank Account
You can alternatively pay directly to our bank account. Once you have made the
payment please send us a copy of the payment receipt via email to
support@flowplayer.org (PDF or image). With a valid receipt we can supply you
the products immediately without waiting for the transaction to complete.
If you're in the EU, please forward your VAT ID along with the proof of payment.
If you are a EU resident and don't have a valid VAT ID, please add 24% Finnish VAT to the amount.
If you are a Finnish resident always add 24% VAT.
If you are outside the EU and cannot do a SEPA transaction, the SWIFT charge code (SWIFT form field 71A Details of Charges) must be set to OUR, i.e., all charges will be borne by you. We cannot accept SHA or BEN charged payments.

We offer a 25% discount to educational institutions and non-profit organizations. Please contact support@flowplayer.org with a direct link to your site and we will check whether you qualify.
