Considering Buying But Need More Information

Posted: Aug 27, 2009

I am considering buying this product for our company, two domains. However we also have two staging servers plus five localhosted development boxes. In addition, some servers run on different ports - could you please contact me to discuss my options?

You should really have a generalized Contact Me page on your site - it is pretty standard stuff - you know - especially when a potential customer has a basic question like this.

Just sent you an email. Having the contact form in this site is a good idea.

"You can use the commercial player version on the localhosted and
staging servers. If you don't configure the player with a valid
license key it will show our logo, but otherwise all the features work including the commercial features. This was designed like this so that development on non-production domains is possible. On localhost it will never show the logo."

I said

"This is all good, but we want to test features that are ONLY available in the corporate version, like logo incorporation, custom menus, etc. Our process is similar to anyone who does this for a living: multiple developers boxes all running localhosted versions, a staging server for intergated developed code testing and a production server). We do this for two different sites (domains). But the point I am making is what we are testing are features that are ONLY AVAILABLE in the commercial version. How many licenses do I need?

I also said:

BTW: I think this software is great. We intend to buy provided I don't need 10 licenses (5 developers for local, 2 staging servers, 2 public domains). I guess that is 9."

Bottom line answer: yes you can utilize the commercial version on localhost without barriers although the Flowplayer logo will be visible. Once you move the same code (+ key) to production the Flowplayer logo is gone and all commecial options remain available.
