Corporate mission: provide Blu-Ray quality video on-demand via satellite transport. My mission: build a NetFlix / Vudu style entertainment guide. Issue at hand: i'm receiving trailers from IMDB and LionsGate in .mov files - they're h264 MPG4 under the hood. Ideally i'd like to automate an import of these assets and have a web-based solution for playback of these video files without any massaging in the process. I realize Flash - off the shelf - cannot accomplish this. Our developer selected FlowPlayer as a solution and embedded it into our site. He played a trailer for me in a demo once - using FF3.6. He's gone. I own this task now. I cannot get this thing to play anything. FlowPlayer doesn't seem to work at all on IE. On Mozilla it at least shows me a FlowPlayer skin and a play button but it doesn't play anything. What formats does this thing play and why isn't that documented? Assuming it will not play all video formats - let's assume it doesn't play .mov files. I got my video guy to convert it to a flash video. Flash will play the movie. FlowPlayer still will not play it. I need an off the shelf solution for playing h264 mpg4 videos ideally. I have no problem buying the thing but it has to work on all browsers and cannot rely on HTML5 to do that. I might have time today to write my own version of flowplayer javascript. all it has to do is grab the href of the "player" object and stuff a flash object into the innerHTML property of it. I have to assume since this does not work that it depends on some un-documented framework that i'm missing. What else does this player need in order to work? What is missing from your documentation? Does anyone have suggestions on how to debug this thing? I'd like to demo this to our CEO today if possible. I'm out next week. If anyone knows of any good players to recommend i'm open to ideas. For now - until I find one - i'm looking for a flash developer that will build us a flash video player for a reasonable price.

Update: I was able to get this to work on Mozilla. It does not work on IE. It plays Flash video files. I'm out next week. When I get back I may debug this on IE.
