Looking for a Developer

Posted: Feb 5, 2009

Hi.

I am building a social network using software that utilizes PHP and mySQL.

I would like to find a developer who would be interested in seeing if integrating flowplayer into my site is possible.

Contact me directly if you'd like to look into it.. if you think you can do the project we can talk about compensation..

passion for green business and the environment is helpful, but not necessary for this project.

Really?

No one is looking for work?

Is there a reason that this can't be done? I cannot imagine that there is no one who wants some income.

Hi rrun,

I don't think it's a case of people not wanting work or income but this board probably sees primary users like youself; that is, people with their own web sites to run and maintain.

Having said that, I can't see any reason why flowplayer can't be integrated into any site, be it static or dynamic.

If you're looking for a developer, send me an email and I can put you in touch with one who I have used for well over 5 years. My email is khaled /at/ sharpedezine /dot/ com

Hi rrun,

It's more a case that in the current financial climate, a busy developer is an employed developer, as some may know I have been working near round the clock for the last few days (32hours allready this week).

That said 'I am building a social network using software that utilizes PHP and mySQL.' with the plethora of social networks already available, what exactly sets yours aside from the rest?

What are your daily and monthly unique visitors?

What is the URL?

These questions help to gauge whether committing to the project is worth while.

With all that said my contact details are already in this thread:http://www.flowplayer.org/forum/15/14010 entitled "Need a bespoke project done? Then read me!"

Hello rrun:

I have developed similar module for my own social networking site based on LAMP. I have developed this in a modular fashion, so that php can call by module/plugin name to install the player any where in php page.

I have several different player configurations such as player, streamer, uploader, with tracking, authentication, cuepoints etc., Include two lines of code into main include file of your site and rest is done. Install the player by calling one single function from php code to install OR embed the player.

May be I need to further test them and package them together, so that any one can install it as flowplayer module. I do not have live running site at this point.

Let me know what is the timeline you are looking for. Depending on timing, we will proceed further if it suits your requirements.

Just become free'd up again. In between getting DDoS'd 3 times and being fully booked with clients I haven't been around here much, but I'm sure I could work with you on this.

Look forward to hearing from you Robert.

Thanks,
Liam

No idea, I kind of expected the providers to do a bit more about it tbh. I'm moving to a new provider, more secure hopefully.

However don't get me wrong, when I setup all these new VPS's I'm gonna ask you to go to town on them for me buddy! :-)
