I'm currently starting a project for a flash video player that is capable of streaming live content and that can run off a CDN backbone and is able to scale quickly. This player will also be extended into use as a channel video player to play static videos (see hulu.com), function as an embeddable player within our social network application and the capability to be shared outside the platform. We require that there is some level of support to the final software.
I am looking at two avenues, either building a player and backend system from scratch using Flex or going the flowplayer route. What I don't have is a flowplayer expert at this point. If you are that person I need some convincing that this isn't just a crap open source player. If you work for flowplayer please chime in, your product looks good from the surface I just need to know more about it.
