Are you sure you mean swf, not flv or mp4?

If Adobe Premiere has the capability to export in the format of you choice (and the quality you want) then use it.

Still, it might be a good idea to have a look at this introduction at least.

tacoloco, you convert avi to swf for what? You want to embed the swf to a web page, or others? If you want to convert avi to files that can be embeded it into a webpage, not only swf works, flv also works.
