How to get Flowplayer working with Amazon Cloudfront? (COMPLETE BEGINNER) Created Mar 11, 2010

Hi everyone,

I have been battling for days to try and get my mp4 videos streaming from Amazon cloudfront on my Joomla CMS site.

I have searched this forum, searched all over the place and the answers that are given are simply to advanced for someone like me, I am really just looking for a starters guide (do this do that) to how to get this streaming implemented.

Now before you ask, I have all of the Amazon things sorted and I have gotten to the point where I can succesfully run my videos hosted in Amazon S3 buckets through flowplayer. Now I am trying to get them streaming through Cloud Front so they download much faster for other people around the world.

I have set up my Cloud Front distribution and linked it to my S3 bucket and now have a 'rtmp' domian name which is;

rtmp://sxxxxxxxx.cloudfront.net/cfx/st

This is where I'm stuck, I simply don't know what to do with that rtmp domain or where to put it.

I have read that I need to install the rtmp plugin from this site, is that right? And if so where do I upload the (flowplayer.rtmp-3.1.3.swf) file too, my web-server where all the other flow player .swf files are?

I don't give a damn what the video player looks like for starters, I just really want to get my video's streaming through cloud front for the time being, so if ANYONE has code or basic instructions for what I should do next, I would be so so greatful.
