Live Stream with Playlists Created Aug 9, 2010

According to the documentation,

"To enable live streaming, add the live property to the clip to designate that the clip is indeed a live feed"

So, how would that work with a playlist where the first item alone is live and the rest aren't or where a few random videos may be live but the rest aren't? It seems like it would make more sense to be able to specify the live property in the playlist instead of in the clip...
