Slow motion button?

Posted: Apr 19, 2009

Hi,

it would be nice to have a way to change playback speed through scripting or through a control skin. Somethink like a "Slow motion" or "0.5x" button.

As a university project, my wife and I are creating a website for explaining gestures in different cultures and it would be nice to be able to switch the video to slow motion, such that some of the quicker gestures can be seen more clearly. Providing separate slow motion videos would be an option, but that is definitely more work than just instructing the player to go slowly.

Other people might find 2x or 4x fast forward buttons (as seen on a VCR) very useful. Think about integrating optional speed controls into your control bar.

Thanks for providing a GPL'ed version of Flow Player. This rocks - it's ideal for our non-commercial research purpose.

I wasn't sure if this was possible, but it looks like someone figured out a hack:

Hi flowplayer Team..
Being able to play flv in slow motion would really be useful.
Think of all the Sport Websites. Analyzing body movements or
match situations.
I d love to see this being implemented
I personally run a Website for analyzing the running style (long distance runners)
Here is another workaround for flash:

cheers
