I agree with web00132. I am also one who considers buying the commercial license, but hesitate because of the current license offers. Why aren't upgrades included in the price? Buying the 3.1.5 license today, and knowing it will be old after a month just makes the buyer feel like an idiot. Who wants to throw $95 - $1450 (+ 25% VAT) out the window?
The Flowplayer software itself is really great, even though this forum shows that some bugs haven't been fixed for more than a year.
I have to admit that I can't afford paying for a new license/upgrade everytime you have a new release. Predicting your release schedule is totally impossible and is just pure gambling.
Release history:
Jul 29, 2009 Version 3.1.2
Sep 3, 2009 Version 3.1.3
Oct 7, 2009 Version 3.1.4
Oct 24, 2009 Version 3.1.5
February, 2010 Version 3.2
?, 2010 Version 3.2.1 ?
My feature request is that you revise your pricing strategy. Having updates included for one year would make me take out my wallet. Not just every time you decide to increase the version number. Buying a 100-domain MultiLicense for $399 is really too risky.
I really feel that I want to use the Flowplayer software, but I feel that your current pricing strategy (or lack thereof) pushes me to look for second-best options at your competitors.
Thank you, and I hope you listen to me, as well as all the other people who have previously mentioned this change in pricing strategy.
Best regards,
Hopefully a future Flowplayer customer
