[OT] Images in flowplayer.org website

Posted: Jun 29, 2009

Hello,

My question is a little off-topic. I only want to know what application can generate images like this one :

http://flowplayer.org/tools/img/hero/tabs.jpg

I mean, the tabs with that crystal look-and-feel with the shadows...

Thank you very much.

Doesn't answer your question, but are you aware that you can download sample graphics for each of the tools? Just click on the clamp image on the corresponding page to download a zip file.

Nice extra service of the flowplayer team to share these.

Thank you for your fast answer. I've been looking (with no success) for a tool to generate my own images with that crystal effect.

Let's see if the flowplayer team is so kind to share the secret with the world :)

The jQuery Tools 3D Logos

Hi Palmerabollo,

Thanks for your interest. I used Adobe Illustrator and Cheetah3D for creating the jQuery Tools logos initial renders but then combined, recreated and basically enhanced the hell out of them in Photoshop using gradients, paths, and large as well as small, feathery brush strokes to create sharp edge flares and the illusion of soft lights shining through the transparent material. So you could say they're just as much hand-drawn as they are 3D image renders. I suppose the years I've spent retouching product photography had an effect in how these turned out.

Cheers,

Janne
