flowplayer.pseudostreaming-3.1.0.swf H.264 Bug

Posted: Feb 14, 2009

The integrated flowplayer.pseudostreaming-3.1.0.swf does not work correctly when used for H.264 pseudostreming... It will allow you to seek beyond a portion of the buffered file if you seek while it the video is still loading and you can seek backward after the buffer finishes from that point. If you let the video load completely before seeking however, when you try to seek in the fully loaded video it will display the loading circle constantly and just keep playing from the beginning - u can not seek after the video is fully loaded in the player.

What is odd is the flowplayer.h264streaming-3.0.5.swf provided here:

http://h264.code-shop.com/demo/flowplayer/flowplayer.h264streaming-3.0.5.zip

Does not have this error, fully loaded or not it is possible to seek to any place in the video...

My server is using H264 Streaming Module for Apache (version 2) located here:

http://h264.code-shop.com/trac/wiki/Mod-H264-Streaming-Apache-Version2

Is there anyway you could resolve this problem?

Thanks

Two more problems here:

First error: when setting the scrubber a few seconds before the end, it stops streaming after a few seconds and the loading animation is shown.

Second error: when I click "stop" and restart the video, I can't pseudo-stream anymore.

Apart from nixlover error, another one I encounter is that when the video starts playing the timer stays at 00:00 during the playback, this happened with .mp4 files but not with .flv files.

Using flowplayer.h264streaming-3.0.5.swf I didn't had this problem.

I can confirm that, I took a look and noticed the same behavior jaood mentioned.

I can also confirm that flowplayer.h264streaming-3.0.5.swf does not have that problem.

Any word on when this will be fixed?

This is the only thing stopping me from using flowplayer...

I don't understand why the third party plugin works and the official plugin released by flowplayer does not...

I may attempt to retrieve the source code from the third party plugin author again if he still has it, he directed me back here saying the flowplayer devs are happy to help and would take care of it but it's been over two weeks now and not a word wtf...

H264 Pseudostreaming is slow with Safari and Firefox for MacOSX

I have installed the H264 Pseudostreaming Apache module in my Server. All the long videos (40-80 minutes) have been converted with FFMEG and M4Box. When I play the videos on FlowPlayer and Windows (Internet Explorer and Firefox), it's run fine.

But when I play a long MP4 video in MacOsX (Safari 3 or Firefox 3)... FlowPlayer run slowly and the system is locked for 10-30 seconds.

I'm working with flowplayer.h264streaming-3.0.5.swf
