Ok well then my searching for this which ended up with nothing couldn't of ended any other way. Its not top priority for us to have this but it something that would be desirable in the future. It was in version 2.x which is part of the confusion.

I've been playing with your source code and modified some things to suit our needs (hard coding settings so users can't change them). If we get the time we may try to extend your player and include a flash integration that can achieve this. However if we do do this then its going to be integrated directly in the core flash file since we don't want 3rd party sites that embed our video to remove it via javascript. We will still provide you with the source so that you can create a plugin out of however.

As far as I can tell there is no way to actually provide the user with the option of copying the embed code from the flash player itself. I see a demonstration where a js plugin is used to code on tabs to the side for this functionality but thats a terrible design...

Why would I need a plugin in JS to output an embed code when I can just print the thing in a textbox below the player? Instead the useful feature of v2 was the built in functionality of flash to allow the user to get the embed code directly from the player.

The problem with the JS plugin is that I copy the embed code and embed it on another page and now there is no way for anyone viewing that page to get the embed code unless the author of that page chooses to show it...

So when is this going to happen? How you can say that this isn't vital because you didn't use them. Obviously if a user takes an embed code and puts in in their blog, then the users from that blog can't get the embed code unless they find in on the original site...
