Nested Tabs with History and Page Refresh

Posted: Mar 10, 2010

I'm trying to use nested tabs with history. The outer level works perfectly. Each time I select a different outer tab the content and URL reflect the change. When I navigate to the inner tabs (which happen to only be on one of the outer tabs [outer tab-2 #company], the inner tabs work perfectly. Each time I select a different inner tab the content and URL reflect the change (ie. /about#company#history or /about#company#staff). The only problem is when I try to refresh the page while on an inner tab (any inner tab except inner tab 0 /about#company#history), the pages goes back to outer tab 0 (/about/facilities, but the URL stays the same (ie. /about#company#staff). I should also not that while testing in Safari, I noticed the the second # changes to a %23 (ie. /about#company%23history). Any thoughts on how to achieve nested tabs with history and page refresh?

Nope. I ended it just switching pages and only have one level of tabs.

Thanks! Yeah it seems like that is going to be the only solution. Such a bummer.. I just spend days creating all these nested tabs and now going to have to make it all into static pages. Cheers!
