I have some tooltips that are using a png image as the background with formatted html and the dynamic plugin. They are all set to toggle (with no delays) instead of fade and in IE they are slow as the dead, yet in Firefox, Chrome and Safari (on both windows and OSX) they render quick and responsive.
For example on a page with 7 icons in row with tooltips attached to them if you drag the mouse back and forth across them quickly, non-IE browsers pop them up and out like you would expect with no problems. When you do the same thing with IE they load slowly and more noticeable they vanish very slowly to the point where I can just about get all the tooltips visible on the screen at one time.
Are there known issues with tooltip performance on IE?
[Edit]: I just noticed that if I clear the cache in IE8 and then reload the page the tooltips are much quicker (still not as fast as the other browsers) but then if I reload the page again the performance issues are there again and the tooltips are extremely slow to appear and disappear.
Thanks!
