IE6 support for Overlay?

Posted: Aug 3, 2009

Hi, I'm setting up overlay and when the Overlay window appears, 2 of 3 form elements on the main page appear on top of the overlay window. ( The 2 problems being select fields, the third an input box. None of them have special CSS characteristics that should make them layer differently than the box that appears under the overlay as it should.. positioning/z-index etc. )

Is there IE6 support for this script? Has anyone else encountered this? Thanks

That s a really big big issue....
I hope the dev could do something for it, unless it will be a useless script... :(
(IE user are still more than 50% !)

A temporary solution for you guys might be to hide every :input element on the page and hide() the flowplayers on the page when the overlay is initialized, then show them again when the overlay is closed.

This is what I do to use nyroModal together with flowplayer. But the form element one would annoy me too.

I really hope IE6 dies completely by the end of 2010.

Clever idea :)
I ll modify my script to do that only if IE.

Anyway it s strange that this behavior is still on with IE8 (not the input tag but the flowplayer on the page which still on top of the overlay)

No way. IE6 is ~40-60% in 2009 :)

IE6 = "~22.09%". I don't know where you are getting your numbers from, but they are completely off the mark. Stop spreading inaccurate information.
